Collogh Cares Inc. is one of the 20 Revelations unveiled by Startup Montréal

MONTRÉAL, April 13, 2022 – Collogh Cares Inc. is one of the 20 Revelations unveiled by Startup Montréal. The Revelations, selected as part of the Grant+ Revelations program, are startups to watch in the Montreal ecosystem that stand out for their innovation, the growth potential of their business model and their achievements.

In addition to receiving a $20,000 grant, Collogh Cares will benefit from outreach and access to the Startup Montréal business network, composed of over 450 volunteer coaches and 1,100 founders. Startup Montréal Revelations, formerly under Montréal inc., is an annual competition that has been rewarding over twenty businesses annually for over 25 years, thanks to donors who contribute to the organization’s philanthropic mission.

“The choice of these startups shows the richness of our ecosystem. All of these businesses participated in an accelerator program or were supported by an organization part of the Montréal ecosystem. We have an outstanding quality of support in Montréal for businesses with high economic and social impact. Grant+ Revelations is the opportunity to propel these promising businesses and participate in their development,” said Liette Lamonde, Managing Director of Startup Montréal.

« To care is to serve», said Collins Oghor MD, MBA, CEO / Co-founder].

The startups that were selected reflect on the trends observed in the ecosystem. Over half of the businesses are in three booming economic sectors, such as health and social services (25%), ICT (20%) and life sciences (10%). In addition, these startups all have a technological component, particularly in medtech (25% of the projects), artificial intelligence (20%) and virtual / augmented reality (15%). The Revelations form a cohort of 56 cofounders which 36% of them are women.

Collogh Cares got a grant from Montréal Foundation. The selection has been made by evaluators from the business community and partner organizations of the ecosystem, who determined the finalists. These finalists then presented their company to a jury of 6 notable entrepreneurs, including the Jury Chair and cofounder of TrackTik, Julie Lacasse, as well as Frédéric Bastien of Mnubo, Roberto Casoli of CHK PLZ, Joëlle Chartrand of RenoRun, Xavier Peich, formerly with Smart Halo, and Chloé Soucy of Quo Vadis.

“These Revelations offer more than innovative products or solutions. The experience of the cofounders, their progress, milestones achieved during the last year, and the potential for growth were all taken into consideration for the selection. As a woman entrepreneur, I see the merit of giving back to the business community by offering them time and support based on my experience. I am proud to have chaired this jury, which included other experienced entrepreneurs from the Montréal community,” said Julie Lacasse, Chair of the Revelations Selection Jury.

This selection has been announced during Rendez-Vous Startup Montréal, on the evening of April 13. The Rendez-Vous Startup brought together over 150 people from Startup Montréal’s extended network, including former Laureates, volunteer coaches, donors and several partners.

We thank all the organizations that support entrepreneurship and Startup Montréal’s mission by making it possible to award this grant : National Bank, Scotiabank, Bell, Behaviour, BMO, CDPQ, Davies, Deloitte, Desjardins, Economic Development Canada, Energir, Fonds de solidarité – FTQ, TD Bank Group, Park Avenue Group, Hydro-Québec, Investissement Québec, KPMG and Power Corporation.

About Collogh Cares

We are building a digital health ecosystem with the potential to transform the management of advanced Chronic Kidney Disease — by increasing patient engagement, adherence to treatment and lifestyle changes; and enabling healthcare providers to remotely monitor and triage their CKD patients.

The ecosystem comprises of 3 components:

1.) Monitoring sensors which collect data (blood pressure, blood glucose, activity, sleep) from the patients daily

2.) A digital health coach – patient-facing mobile app – which gives the patients daily guidance on diet, exercise and medication (and appointment) reminders

3.) A care management platform for healthcare providers – which gives the providers remote real-time access to the patient’s daily vital signs and abiliity to alter treatment remotely. Integrated into this platform is a predictive tool which rates each patient’s personalized risk of kidney disease progression

As we develop these software, we believe it is crucial to gain insights and validation from case managers who have a 360-degree view of the patient’s care needs. Specifically, we would ask them to review various features of the digital health coach and care management platform, to seek their feedback on the user experience and how well such features solve specific problems in CKD management. We would also frequently seek their general insights on the major difficulties they face in coordinating kidney care and explore how we can develop technologies to address such issues. This could be a very fun ongoing engagement for them!
